While the Wisconsin “Safer at Home” order extends until May 26th, SEAS is happy to note that boat rentals have been allowed to reopen. While this is a far cry from our original plans for the 2020 season we are excited to know we will be able to offer access to Lake Michigan for our members.
We are crafting new rules now that will help ensure the rental process will be safe for staff and members. These rules will include new temporary requirements for renters, detailed and comprehensive cleaning of boats and equipment, and scheduling to avoid congestion on the waterfront.
Opening for rentals is currently scheduled for June 1st. All past approved members will be given an extension of their 2019 check-out. Prospective members will need to give us a description of their sailing experience and short interview, we may ask for a short demonstration of skill near the dock.
